Having your portrait painted is fun; as in the case of children. For the adults, it is bearable to mildly entertaining. I begin with meeting with you in my studio or your location to discuss what you want to convey in the portrait, such as formality or informality, dress, attitude, pose, expression, lighting, size, your own ideas, and more.

I work primarily from photographs as this avoids the inconvenience and expense associated with long posed sittings. I prefer to take my own as my needs for composition and lighting are rarely met otherwise. In those rare instances where it’s not possible to take my own photographs, I will assist you in providing me with the very best images to work from.

There is a non-refundable deposit of one-third due at the time of commissioning your portrait. Another one-third due when the painting is approaching completion, and the final payment at the time of delivery.
